CHIME Charter School
CHIME Charter School, located in Woodland Hills on a LAUSD Campus was a Division of the State Architect (DSA) approved project to integrate a middle school into an existing elementary school. Integral to the CHIME mission is a full inclusion program based on the belief that important academic, social and ethical skills and attitudes are developed when students with various abilities, needs, and backgrounds learn together. As a model for excellence in accessibility, the seven principles of Universal Design became one of the critical aspects of the basis for design. Equally important, the school embraced the goal of pushing sustainable principals as far as the budget would allow.
