Santa Monica Place Parking Structure Renovation

These two six-level, concrete parking structures are located on opposite corners of the Santa Monica Place shopping mall and anchor the 3rd Street Promenade. The renovation of both parking structures encloses the garage with light detail and color with an elegant skin. A new photovoltaic array is added to the roof levels of the parking structures to supply both garages with enough energy production for all of their electrical needs. These two elements are then combined with an elegant wrapper which hovers above new retail space along Broadway. This project is the result of a successful collaboration between the City of Santa Monica as the owner and Macerich as the developer. The renovation is being developed in conjunction with Pugh + Scarpa Architects as design architects.
